Man Injured in Bear Attack While Grazing Sheep Near Forest Area in Dooru

Dooru, Oct 2 (KNC): A man was injured in a bear attack on Thursday while grazing his sheep near a forest area in South Kashmir’s Dooru Anantnag.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, The injured has been identified as Mohd Akther Famda, son of Abdul Shakoor Famda, a resident of Rain Chowgond.

According to locals, Akther was rearing his sheep close to the forest when a bear suddenly appeared and attacked him.

He was immediately rushed to the hospital and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment. His condition is stated to be stable.

Meanwhile, officials said the Wildlife Control Room Dooru has launched an operation to trap the bear and prevent further attacks.

Residents have appealed to authorities to expedite the trapping process and increase surveillance in vulnerable areas. (KNC)
