Doru, Nov 7 (KNC): Police Station Doru on Friday carried out a comprehensive verification drive of SIM card vendors across its jurisdiction as part of ongoing efforts to prevent misuse of SIM cards and tighten monitoring of telecom service practices.
According to officials, the drive focused on checking documentation processes, KYC compliance and proper maintenance of customer records to ensure that SIM cards are not issued without mandatory verification.
SDPO Doru, Yawer Khan, along with SHO Doru, supervised the inspection teams during the exercise. Officers briefed vendors about their legal responsibilities and warned that any violation of guidelines would attract strict action.
Police said similar drives will continue in the coming days to ensure that SIM cards do not fall into the hands of anti-social or anti-national elements. (KNC)
