Bandipora, Nov 8 (KNC): The District Table Tennis Championship 2025 officially commenced on Saturday at SK Stadium Bandipora with great enthusiasm and participation from young talents across the district.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of players from various schools and clubs, representing different age categories in both boys and girls divisions.
The championship, organized by the District Table Tennis Association Bandipora, will continue for three days, during which players will compete for qualification in the upcoming State Table Tennis Championship.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Second-in-Command, 14 RR Bandipora as the Chief Guest, along with Guest of Honour Suhail saeed Lone, Founder and producer of taha film international ; Ayaz Ahmad, In-charge SK Stadium Bandipora; and several other dignitaries.
In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the organizers and participants, highlighting the growing sports culture in the district.
“You have done a commendable job and shown great dedication. It’s encouraging to see Bandipora producing state and national-level table tennis players,” he remarked. “Table tennis is gaining strong momentum across the country, and our youth including our girls are bringing laurels at national and international platforms. We must continue this spirit and dedication to take the game to greater heights.”
He further emphasized the importance of such events, noting that they provide a vital platform for children to showcase their skills and bring pride to their district, state, and nation through sports.
The championship marks an important step in promoting grassroots sports and nurturing young table tennis talent from Bandipora. (KNC)
