DGP, IGP Kashmir review security arrangements in Downtown Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 6 (KNC): The Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V.K. Birdi, DIG Central Kashmir, SSP Srinagar and other senior police officials, on Friday reviewed the overall security situation in downtown Srinagar.
Senior officers, as per the details available with the (KNC) conducted a detailed assessment of security arrangements in sensitive areas, including Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Hazratbal Shrine and Nowhatta in the old city.
Officials took stock of the ground situation and reviewed the deployment of police and security personnel in view of the prevailing circumstances and upcoming congregational gatherings.
The visit was aimed at ensuring effective coordination and maintaining law and order in the downtown areas.
Senior officers also interacted with field officials and directed them to remain vigilant while ensuring smooth public movement and the peaceful observance of religious activities. (KNC)
