J&K Government Introduces Three Key Bills in Legislative Assembly

Srinagar, October 29 (KNC): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday introduced three major bills in the Legislative Assembly, aimed at strengthening local governance, labor regulations, and cooperative management across the Union Territory.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, to introduce, “A Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989 (Act No. IX of 1989) (L.A. Bill No.5 of 2025)” already published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Incharge Labour and Employment to introduce,” A Bill to amend and consolidate the laws relating to regulation of employment and other conditions of service of workers employed in shops and establishments and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. (L.A. Bill No.6 of 2025)” already published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette, list of business reads.

Minister Javid Ahmad Dar who is also minister for Cooperatives will also introduce another Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies Act, 1989 (Act No. XVII of 1989) (L.A. Bill No.7 of 2025)” already published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette. (KNC)
