Top police sources say the OGW provided logistic backing to terrorists involved in the barbaric attack
Srinagar, Sep 24 (KNC): An Over Ground Worker from Kulgam was apprehended in Srinagar for his alleged involvement in aiding terrorists who carried out the barbaric April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Top police sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC that following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, “Operation Mahadev” was launched in Srinagar.
“Operation Mahadev was an intelligence-based operation launched on July 29 in Srinagar, when a joint team of the Army’s elite para commandos, J&K Police, and CRPF killed three terrorists on the city’s outskirts.
Sources further added that those terrorists included Sulieman alias Asif, believed to be the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack, along with his associates Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Jibran, according to police records, was also linked to the October 2024 Sonamarg Tunnel attack.
In Operation Mahadev, based on investigation and leads, it was found that a 26-year-old person from Kulgam was involved in providing logistic support to the terrorists behind the attack.
“Srinagar police, acting on precise investigation, arrested an Over Ground Worker identified as 26-year-old Mohd Yousuf Katari of Kulgam from Harwan Srinagar on Monday, sources said.
Adding that, “He was providing logistical support to the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack.”
The April 22 terror strike in Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, sending shockwaves across the Valley.
Officials maintained that further investigation is underway into Katari’s role and possible links to other terror networks. (KNC)
